Bronze memorial sculptures are built to last generations. The patina is alive — it deepens over decades with a little seasonal attention.
Cast, chased, and patinated by hand
Bronze Sculpture
Bronze is the most forgiving material in the studio. The patina deepens over decades; the form itself will outlast every other object in the room.
Day to day
- Dust with a clean, dry cotton cloth (an old T-shirt works well), wiping in the direction of the form.
- Once a year, wipe on a thin coat of clear paste wax (any hardware-store furniture or car paste wax) with a cloth, then buff gently with a dry cotton cloth.
Never
- Brass or copper polish — they strip the patina permanently.
- Citrus, vinegar, ammonia, or any acidic cleaner.
- Salt air without a written outdoor plan from us.
